Davis Aloschi, a 15-year-old student at La Scala’s ballet school, died in a crash between two scooters.

Davis returned to his family in Sicily a few days ago after completing the academy’s 5th course and participating in the grand end-of-term show in May.

The school’s director, , and the school’s personnel are “devastated by such a painful and unacceptable loss”.

Davis was born in Syracuse, Sicily, in 2010 and entered the Accademia Teatro alla Scala Ballet School in 2022. He participated in main-stage ballets such as ‘s The Nutcracker and ‘s Coppélia.

He was a passenger on a 125cc motorbike being ridden by an 18-year-old friend when the vehicle collided with another scooter. He was rushed to the A&E department at the Umberto I Hospital in Syracuse, but died shortly afterwards. His friend is in a critical condition.

In a statement, the La Scala Academy said:

Davis was a cheerful, generous young man, loved by everyone for his boundless energy and the deep sense of solidarity he showed towards his classmates every day.

His passing leaves an unfillable void throughout the Academy community, which joins together in a heartfelt embrace with Davis’s family.
